Winner of the Shropshire Brewers Cup was Shropshire Legends (Target).
Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival is on the move*
We’re moving to a larger venue – the former Wakeman School – and we’re moving to a date in the summer – 20-22 July – when we can be a major part of Shrewsbury’s visitor offering.
We’ll have over 100 different beers, food on site and lots of seating! The festival’s ethos will be the same – plenty of new beers and new breweries, but we’ll be able to accommodate more old favourites, a wider range of ciders and a bar dedicated to dark beers.
Updates, ideas and gossip will be posted on our Festival Facebook Page In the meantime, if you are a CAMRA member who would like to volunteer to work at the festival for a few hours, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
*as with any festival, we’re subject to final approval of budget by CAMRA Central Office
The new venue’s postcode is SY2 6AA. It’s about 350 yards further from the station, but there’s a bus (No1) which goes past the door and runs until 9pm (ish). There’s parking nearby if you have a designated driver.
We’re unlikely to have amplified music, which I know will please some and displease others, but might go for a one or two person acoustic set in a side room.
There are a couple of internal stairs between the front entrance and the foyer, but there’s a platform lift so we will have full disabled access.
We’d like to thank the Morris Hall for having us for the past few years. It’s unfortunate we’ve outgrown its charms, but it’s time for us to move on to more suitable accommodation. Please consider the Hall for any events you’re holding
In the meantime, for news of other beer festivals in Shrewsbury, Shropshire & surrounding counties during the rest of the year,
