GBG 2019 and PoTY/CoTY/CPoTY 2018

CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2019 Entries

During January 2018 we will be selecting our Branch’s entries into the 2019 guide.  So far, members from this branch and across the country have tasted and scored the beers of our branch’s pubs via the National Beer Scoring System, and this has been analysed and used to select a shortlist of 43 pubs which keep their beer to a very high standard.  The five pubs with the highest beer scores have been selected automatically to be recommended for inclusion.  Now it is the turn of CAMRA members to select the 21 pubs which will join them.

You can cast your votes in person at the next Branch meeting, on 7 February at the Olde Bucks Head, The Mount, Shrewsbury (8pm), by posting them to Norrie Porter, 23 Cleveland Street, Shrewsbury SY2 5DN to arrive by 31 January 2018, or electronically (local CAMRA members will have already been notified of the link to use, if you have missed this or need clarification email press@saws.camra.org.uk with your name and CAMRA membership number).

The voting process is simple and quick, and you can vote for as few or as many pubs as you wish, up to a maximum of 21 pubs.  If you vote for more, I’m afraid your votes will be invalid.  Electronic votes need to be cast by 31 January 2018.

Pub of the Year 2018

The shortlist for each of the three categories of Pub of The Year (Shrewsbury, Market Town and Rural), Cider Pub of The Year, and Club of The Year have now all been drawn up.  All Shrewsbury and West Shropshire CAMRA members who are not connected to one of the shortlisted pubs are eligible to take part in the judging, against a pre-agreed set of criteria.

The judging form and guidelines are available here: PoTY/CoTY Judging Criteria

If you would like to take part in the judging, email press@saws.camra.org.uk with your name and CAMRA membership number and you will be sent the shortlist of pubs.

You will need to have visited at least three of the shortlisted pubs/clubs, and returned the scores, by 31 January 2018, and if you are judging in the overall category you will need to visit at least two more pubs by 28 February.
